      Mr. Arthur George Leeds, whose death has been reported by cable from England, where he lived for the past 20 years, was born in Norwich in 1857 and landed in Melbourne in 1879.

      He was associated with Dalgety and Co. Ltd in Australia for a great number of years. In the early nineties he arrived from Victoria as auditor for this State and several years later was appointed sub-manager at Fremantle under the late Messr E. T. Hooley and A. F. Durlacher (Joint managers).

      Upon their retirements his appointment as general manager for the company in Western Australia was announced. That position he administered for nearly 25 years, retiring from the service of the company in 1921. He was one of the first commissioners of the Fremantle Harbour Trust and for many years, was a director of the Swan Brewery.

      He was married on two occasions. His second wife (nee Miss Nessie Monger, of York) with their two children, still resides at their home in Sutton, Surrey, England. The family of the former marriage, two girls and five boys, are in various parts of Western Australia. [2]
