    • Board Asks For Goats To Be Made Vermin
MULLEWA, Sunday.--On the suggestion of a member, Mr. Bob Jensen, the Mullewa Road Board has decided to request the Vermin Board in Perth to have wild goats declared a vermin in the Mullewa district and that a bonus of 2/6 a head be paid on them
Mr. Jensen, who owns Bullardoo station 50 miles north of Mullewa, said that in the last two years he had personally shot 1,000 goats. When going around the wind mills it was not unusual to shoot 50.
They were breeding faster than sheep and were eating the best of the feed and fences would not stop them. Their skins averaged about 4/ but this was not sufficient incentive to hunt them.He thought a bonus of 2/6 would make it worth while. Thengapore market for goats had closed. [3]
