Mr. Dick Woolhouse has been in town for a few days. 'He drove in from the Robe River in a buggy drawn by donkeys. He finds these the most serviceable animals during so dry a time. He looks well, though he recently had a serious illness caused by a fall.

He was practically alone at his homestead, but performed a surgical operation which undoubtedly saved his life. Such incidents as this speak volumes for the resourcefulness and hardiness of the old hands.
