    Just returned to Cne after 2 1/2 years active service in France. Driver T. V. Fowler, sou of Mr. Fowler of Beringaraa and brother of Drover "Charlie" Fowler. Driver Fowler, who is now looking well and has received his discharge and returned to the district which he left with another brother to tight for his country. It was at Pusschendale, whilst, loading shells, that he had the misfortune to be close to where a Hun gas shell exploded.

    As he was working without a gas mask having discarded it for a time the fumes overcame him, and it was not until seven or eight days Inter that he woke up in hospital where he remained for many months before being sent borne as unfit for further duty. It is hoped the clear air of the Murchison will continue to assist in repairing the damaged and that he will soon be as fit as ever.
