Mary was born in Scotland (1822) to John Cushen and Mary Welch,

The site predominately started out researching our Geraldton and Albany families. Over the course of time we found a connection with the early pastoral and droving industries in the North West.

James Hayden (1)

James arrived via the Hashemy and was a Sergeant (Pensioner Guard) at York. Prior to landing in Perth he had served with the 10th Regiment of Foot at Fermoy. He enlisted as 15 year old and served 21 months in Portugal, 10 years in the Jamaica Islands and 11 years at home.
